PUTRAJAYA: The Education Ministry has introduced the School Examination Analysis System or Sistem Analisis Peperiksaan Sekolah (SAPS) as part of the School Improvement Toolkit (SIT) to track the performances of schools last year.

SAPS Ibu Bapa is a centralised online database management system that provides an efficient way of gathering information and monitoring the performances of various aspects of the education process in each school. It is also the first of its kind in the world.

The system allows early identification of students who require additional assistance through the monitoring of their academic performance.

Parents of students are also able to monitor their children’s performance at school from anywhere by entering the student’s identification card number on http://saps.moe.gov.my/ibubapa2/index.php.

With the implementation of SAPS, the speed of transmission and data analysis for school information to be passed on to the Ministry has greatly improved.

The online information system complements the SIT which analyses factors such as the strengths and weaknesses of a school based on its administration, teachers, students, parents and infrastructure.

The SIT is an initiative under the Government Transformation Programme’s (GTP) Education National Key Results Area (NKRA) designed specially to improve the performance of schools in producing quality students.
